On 26 October, 2022, criminal proceeding was initiated on the fact of providing obviously false conclusion by the forensic experts in the case of killing Poghos Poghosyan in the corridor of the toilet of the “Aragast” Cafe in Yerevan on 25 September 2001
The General Prosecutor’s Office reported.
In this case, according to the data obtained by the commission forensic medical examination appointed as a result of the newly revealed circumstances in 2019, experts Sh.G. and G.H., who conducted the primary forensic medical examination of the body regarding some of the physical injuries found during the examination of Poghos Poghosyan’s body, did not record a number of circumstances of essential importance for the examination.
According to the conclusion of the commission’s examination, the conclusions made by the above-mentioned experts regarding the mechanism of occurrence of the physical injuries that were the direct cause of Poghos Poghosyan’s death and caused severe damage to health with life-threatening characteristics were denied.
The criminal proceedings were initiated on the basis of the report of the Deputy Prosecutor of Erebuni and Nubarashen Administrative Districts of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia provided to the Division of Investigation of Grave Crimes of the Investigative Committee of Yerevan, under Article 504, Part 2, Clause 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, namely on providing a false conclusion in relation to a serious or particularly serious crime.
