Today is 27 October, 23 years ago, on 27 October, 1999; an attack was made on the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia during the question and answer session of the government.
As a result of the actions of the terrorist group, RA NA Speaker Karen Demirchyan, Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, National Assembly Deputy Speakers Ruben Miroyan and Yuri Bakhshyan, Minister of Urgent Affairs Leonard Petrosyan, MPs Armenak Armenakyan, Henrik Abrahamyan and Mikayel Kotanyan were killed, 8 people were injured and 91 captured.
The verdict in the 27 October case was published on 2 December, 2003. According to the judgment of the Kentron Court, 6 people were sentenced to life imprisonment, and one person to 14 years of imprisonment.
