Today, on 26 April, during a question and answer session with the Government in the National Assembly, Nikol Pashinyan referred to the negotiation process and the peace treaty with Azerbaijan.
“I must say honestly, I want and will want the peace agreement to be signed by the end of this year. How realistic is it? I will answer that question as follows: I and the Government will make every possible effort to make it realistic. There is an important circumstance and we hope that the delimitation works will be completed before the signing of the Peace Treaty. If we take into account that in Prague we reached an agreement that this will happen on the basis of the borders of 1991, it can be realistic, because these borders are, in fact, known,” the Prime Minister said.
According to him, an internationally visible dialogue should be started between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan and this is a very important circumstance.
“It would be great and I would be very pleased if we could do that. I say again, from our side, we are ready to make maximum efforts,” he said.
