It is not that Armenia has left CSTO, but CSTO has left Armenia: Alen Simonyan

According to my information, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will go to Sochi on 31 October. Today, on 26 October, President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan said in a briefing with journalists.

The President of the National Assembly also referred to the relations of the Republic of Armenia with Russia.

“The Republic of Armenia is under attack. Our country’s security system is showing obvious problems. I’m sorry, but I’m not interested in anyone’s mood, except for the security of the Republic of Armenia. I must protect the borders of my country, and the obligations that the partner countries have taken must be fulfilled. This is our main goal, whether someone will be offended or whether a member of the propaganda bureau will feel bad or not, that is a very tertiary, quaternary question. The Republic of Armenia is under attack every day, and we hear different tales from famous actors.

The Republic of Armenia is not big enough to tolerate even one meter. Armenia does not spoil its relations with any country.  Armenia wants to be treated fairly, the obligations regarding its borders that have been taken, to be fulfilled, and it will do everything for that. We see that it is not Armenia that has left the CSTO, but that the CSTO has left Armenia, but if it did, we should be informed about it and at least told that we can find other mechanisms to protect our borders,” Alen Simonyan said.

He said that he expects from the Aliyev-Pashinyan meeting that all the partners who are in the CSTO and the main ally of Armenia already realize that the line of Armenian interests has stopped.

“We will do everything to protect the interests of the Republic of Armenia and I want to mention also the interests of the people of Artsakh,” he said.
