On 10 October, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić, sent a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.
In the letter, the Secretary General has requested clear and detailed information from the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan regarding possible violations of Articles 2 and 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights, based on the fact of the video recording of extrajudicial killings of Armenian prisoners of war.
The Secretary General notes that the Council of Europe will follow this issue very clowely in line with the mandate provided by the European Convention on Human Rights in order to ensure full respect of the Organization’s standards.
