The Assyrian community of Armenia lost 9 victims in the 44-day war. Member of the National Assembly Zemfira Mirzoeva wrote on her Facebook page.
” 27 September, 2020…
Two years ago, on this day, the 44-day war began, on this day one of the most painful pages of our history was opened: the page of concessions, loss…
Two years have passed since the war. Unfortunately, during this period, our problems and the consequences of the war were not only not overcome, but also new challenges arose. During two years, it was not possible to solve the most important problem, the return of prisoners, which continues to be manipulated for political purposes. For two years, Armenia and Artsakh have suffered new territorial losses, we have had many victims, and today, two years after the 44-day war, the enemy’s target is the sovereign territory of Armenia.
The war unleashed by the enemy on 27 September, 2020 did not solve our problems. The issue of the status of Artsakh and the fate of Artsakh Armenians remains uncertain, there are no long-term and stable guarantees of Artsakh’s security, the existence of RA statehood is at risk… These are problems, the realization of the causes of which and the search for urgent solutions are more than important today.
But parallel to all this, the 44-day war was also another episode of heroism, dedication and patriotism. Thousands of brave men did not spare their lives for the holy cause of protecting the motherland. Many representatives of the national minorities of Armenia and Artsakh also fought for the homeland alongside the Armenian soldier.
The Assyrian community of Armenia had 9 victims in the 44-day war, which is quite a serious number for a community of 5000 people.
Today, we all remember and relive 27 September, 2020, reassess our situation, try to understand what we have two years later. But I want, apart from everything and before everything, to bow down to the memory of our heroes.
Eternal glory to the brave men who died for the motherland, patience to the mothers who gave birth to heroes, wisdom to all of us,” she said.
