As of 11:00 on 13 September, we have 49 victims confirmed by the Ministry of Defense. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this in the National Assembly.

“I should also note that this number, unfortunately, is not final. I want to emphasize that the official news should be checked, rechecked and published again. This is the reason why, taking into account the painful experience we had in the past, we do not publish any information about the identity of the dead soldier or officer until we are sure,” Nikol Pashinyan said.

According to the Prime Minister, the soldiers, officers, and the army fought selflessly and heroically, and paying tribute to the fallen soldiers and officers, he should emphasize that statehood, independence and sovereignty are based on that type of human being and as long as there are such people who are ready at the decisive moment to put own life in danger, even to sacrifice for the sake of the motherland, it means that Armenia has and will have sovereignty, Armenian statehood will be permanent and the people of Armenia will be proud of their children.

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia informs that on 13 September, around 00:05, units of the Azerbaijani armed forces, using artillery, mortars and UAVs, opened intense fire at the Armenian positions located in several parts of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border at once.

In particular, the positions located in the direction of Sotk, Vardenis, Goris, Kapan, Artanish and Ishkhanasar were shelled. Civilian infrastructures are also being attacked.
