The RA Investigative Committee urges all citizens who have purchased from the “Surmalu” Shopping Center, but have not yet used materials and accessories intended for fireworks, not to use them and to submit the mentioned items to the RA Police departments of their place of residence.
“At the same time, we add that the mentioned action will not cause any legal consequences for the citizens,” the statement said.
Let us remind that on August 14, at 1:23 p.m., the National Center for Crisis Management was alerted that an explosion and fire occurred in the “Surmalu” shopping center located at 15 Arshakunyats Street in Yerevan, as a result of which the three-story building partially collapsed.
As of 17 August, rescuers have taken out 16 bodies from the rubble. Two people are considered missing.
62 citizens applied to medical centers of Yerevan city, 7 of them continue to receive treatment, and the rest received appropriate medical care and were discharged.
