Today, on 29 June, the National Assembly elected the RA Prosecutor General. The parliamentary majority nominated Anna Vardapetyan for this position.
Out of 107 deputies, 70 took part in the voting; all of them voted “for” Vardapetyan.
She will assume the post on 15 September, at the special sitting of the National Assembly.
Notably, on 16 September the term of office of the RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan expires. The Prosecutor General shall be elected by the National Assembly upon the proposal of the competent Standing Committee of the National Assembly by at least three-fifths of the total number of votes of the Deputies for a term of six years.
