The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Georgia issued a statement and informed that as a result of intensive restoration works carried out by the relevant Georgian authorities, the traffic on the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway of international significance has been restored for all types of vehicles.
Earlier, the Embassy informed that due to heavy rains and precipitations this year A flood on the 136th kilometer (neutral zone) of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway of international significance was damaged by the flooding of the Tergi / Terek river on June 26, 2012, as a result of which all types of vehicles are temporarily prohibited from traveling in the mentioned section.
Earlier, the Embassy reported that due to heavy rains and heavy precipitations, the Tergi / Terek River flood damaged the 136th kilometer of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway (part of the neutral zone) on 26 June, as a result of which all types of vehicles are temporarily prohibited from traveling in the mentioned section.
The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Georgia is in constant contact with the relevant authorities of Georgia and will make an additional statement on the terms of reopening the road.
