The National Assembly is discussing the issue of electing 3 judges of the Anti-Corruption Chamber on Civil Cases of the Cassation Court. Nine candidates have been nominated for the vacant position of Judge of the Anti-Corruption Chamber on Civil Cases of the Cassation Court, including Artur Davtyan, Naira Hovsepyan and Aghasi Mkoyan.
Naira Hovsepyan has been a judge of the Court of First Instance of the city of Yerevan since 12 January, 1999.
After presenting her experience in the legal field, she also mentioned that she is the mother of Gevorg Arshakyan, who died in the second Artsakh war, which obliges her to run for office. Hovsepyan mentioned why she wants to assume the position of a judge of the Anti-Corruption Chamber of the Court of Cassation.
“Why did I apply, because I want our country to get rid of corruption? Corruption is a monster, it is a disease. The word in Latin means spoiled, perverted. The reason for the war and defeat is corruption. I see the meaning of my life in the creation and development of the homeland that my son dreamed of, for which he gave life․ My son and his friends. That is why I applied to become a judge of that court,” she said.
