Employment contracts will not be in paper form: An electronic platform is being introduced

There will be no paper versions of employment contracts in Armenia soon. A digital employment contract platform is being introduced: an electronic employment contract accounting system, where employers will be involved in a phase by phase.

Igit Hakobyan, the head of the Labor Legislation Control Department of the RA Health and Labor Inspection Body said at the press conference held in “Armenpress” press hall. He informed that the aim of such an initiative is to increase the level of control in the sphere of protection of rights.

“During the work process, we often encounter cases when employers do not provide a copy of employment contracts to an employee, which makes it difficult, and/or in many cases impossible to protect the rights of employees. With the launch of the digital platform, our inspectors will have a huge database, which will make the work more transparent and efficient,” Igit Hakobyan said.

It is envisaged that the relevant legislative regulations will be defined by December 2022. The state bodies will start concluding electronic contracts from July 2023, and the non-state sector from 2025.
