Police do not allow citizens to carry out their peaceful act of disobedience, Anna Mkrtchyan, a member of the “With Honor” Faction of the National Assembly, said today, on 2 May, during the action at the Heratsi-Koryun crossroads.

The demonstrators closed a number of streets from 08:30.

“The police are committing violence right now on Nikol’s order,” she said.

The police formed a chain and pushed the protesters away from the street.

According to the deputy of the “With Honor” Faction of the National Assembly Tigran Abrahamyan, there are people who have been detained.

It should be reminded that the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly, member of the “Armenia” faction Ishkhan Saghatelyan announced yesterday, on 1 May, at the rally held in France Square: “Tomorrow many streets and highways of the republic will be closed, but who will do it? All of us. Tomorrow, especially in Kentron community, there should be no car traffic. I call on our compatriots and students to start a strike from tomorrow,” he said.

Ishkhan Saghatelyan apologized to all the citizens for the inconveniences to be caused in the coming days.
