The court ordered Aram Khanzadyan to apologize publicly to Zaruhi Batoyan. On 1 August, 2019 during an open discussion entitled “Istanbul Convention” held at the office of the World Youth Union of the Armenian Church, Aram Khanzadyan uttered insulting and slanderous remarks about Zaruhi Batoyan, which was the basis for appealing to the court.

The verdict stated that Aram Khanzadyan had given false information defaming Zaruhi Batoyan’s honor, dignity and business reputation, which had the intention of slandering or insulting the addressee. As a result, the court decided to oblige Aram Khanzadyan to apologize publicly to Zaruhi Batoyan, as well as to confiscate money from Aram Khanzadyan in favor of Zaruhi Batoyan as compensation for the damage caused to her as a result of insult and slander.
