Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has announced that talks between the Russian Federation and the Ukrainian delegation will take place on 3 March. It is too early to assess the Russian-Ukrainian talks, he is convinced, TASS reports .
“I cannot assess the situation after the talks now, they have not started yet. Now they have to start. I think the head of the Russian side will make a statement after their completion. Then we will all know the outcome of the negotiations.
In his opinion, there is no doubt that the Ukrainian delegation receives signals from Washington. “Once again, the Ukrainian team has found some reasons to postpone those talks. “Of course, they are receiving instructions from Washington, there is no doubt about that,” he said.
According to him, the Ukrainian delegation promised to bring a firm position to the new round of talks.
He noted that when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky requested talks, Russian President Vladimir Putin immediately agreed to send a delegation. “Then President Zelensky changed his mind, the Americans probably told him not to hurry,” Lavrov said. Further the Ukrainian side decided to come to the talks, but did not come on the day when they agreed, but a day later. Russia waited, and the negotiations took place.
“Any conflict ends with agreements, but it does not depend on the Russian Federation,” Lavrov added. The Russian Federation once again confirms that it is ready for talks on Ukraine, he assured.
