The court obliged Nikol Pashinyan to deny the post made about Hrayr Tovmasyan

The Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, presided over by Judge Gayane Khachatryan, on 18 February announced the verdict in the case of “Judge of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan v. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.”

Iravaban.net learned from Tovmasyan’s representative Arthur Hovhannisyan that the decision will come into force on 18 March, if it is not appealed in the Court of Appeal.

It should be noted that the court partially satisfied Tovmasyan’s claim.

The court ordered the defendant Nikol Pashinyan to post a denial on the official Facebook page of Nikol Pashinyan entitled “Denial of defamation against Hrayr Tovmasyan” within five working days after the court decision came into force (March 18), stating the following: “I, Nikol Pashinyan, deny my assertion that Hrayr Tovmasyan has offered me his services since May 2018. “

In case of impossibility of making a post, Nikol Pashinyan shall undertake responsibility to deny through any printed newspaper consumed in the whole territory of the Republic of Armenia with at least 5000 (five thousand) copies, publishing the text of the denial.

Hrayr Tovmasyan’s claim to apologize was rejected. The verdict will enter into force on 18 March, if one of the parties does not appeal it.

It should be reminded that on 26 January, 2020, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made the following post on his Facebook page ․ I’m shocked to know the price of the pen. In fact, the person holding the post of the CC President through fraud, has given a precious gift to the newly appointed Prime Minister of the country, spicing up the process with subtle hints of being “son-in-law of Ijevan resident (his wife is from Ijevan)”.

This is an important nuance in a country with a clan management traditions. What is this, if not the offer of one’s own services, in exchange for the post?

And the participants of the hybrid coup are already manifesting themselves publicly. But as I said, the backbone of all the conspiracies is broken.

With courage, people. We are dealing with a new impetus to the economic revolution. We will solve the remaining issues during the course also,” he said.

It should be reminded that during the press conference held in Kapan, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the President of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan had regularly offered him his services, in response to which Tovmasyan had issued a statement.

The CC President demanded that Pashinyan publicly state at least one credible fact, one objective fact to prove what he said. Hrayr Tovmasyan gave the Prime Minister 20 days to publish the fact, otherwise he would file a lawsuit against Pashinyan.

In response to this statement, the Prime Minister promised upon his arrival from Kapan to Yerevan to publicize the fact that the President of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan offered him his services upon his arrival from Kapan to Yerevan and posted a notice on his Facebook page and a photo of a pen attached to the post, which, according to the Prime Minister, was presented to him by Hrayr Tovmasyan.
