Deputy of the “Armenia” Faction of the National Assembly Aram Vardevanyan informs:
“On 15 February, we submitted another application to the Constitutional Court, which referred to the authority of the Ministry of Justice to initiate disciplinary proceedings against judges. In addition to addressing constitutional issues, ignoring the views of international organizations, it is extremely important to end the possibility of double standards of that authority. The Constitutional Court has accepted to PROCEEDIINGS our application, therefore:
1) Proceedings initiated by the Ministry of Justice are subject to suspension by the SJC (Jhangiryan) until the decision of the Constitutional Court
2) The Committee on Ethics and Disciplinary Matters of the General Assembly of Judges should be genuinely active, including it shall initiate PROCEEDIINGS against judges who have failed to appear before the General Assembly of Judges for disrespectful reasons.”
