“I want to address our compatriots. I want to say, dear compatriots, I have never lied to you in any question, and I have never falsified any information. And I want you to know that the policy of hatred and enmity of these Azerbaijani authorities continues, it is not over. Their peacemaking is false.

Please, all of you demand from the officials, who talk about new processes without guarantees, ask them to provide guarantees. Otherwise, I am convinced that they are speaking for purely political interests or at least some officials do not realize what they are talking about,” Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan said at a farewell press conference today, on 23 February.

According to him, the Azerbaijani authorities should not be allowed to lull the Armenian society with false peace calls. The society must have its own guarantees.

“Nobody wants war, nobody wants enmity. Especially me as a Human Rights Defender, but we cannot mislead ourselves into believing that it is all over. I say many times that the Azerbaijani armed forces should leave the villages and roads of the Republic of Armenia, but some officials legitimize their presence with statements, create problems, then stand up and say, you know what, it is unrealistic, how shall they leave, let us think of other mechanism,” the Human Rights Defender said.

Tatoyan thinks that time is working against the Armenian society; we must act very quickly, taking into account the real protection of the interests of the Armenians.
