The head of the Armenian Parliamentary Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly Maria Karapetyan abstained from voting on the statement of the Bureau of the Organization on the situation in Ukraine. She informed the journalists about that on Tuesday.
The mentioned statement is considered anti-Russian.
“I abstained from voting on the situation in Ukraine. I hope there will be peace. We, as a state that saw a war in Karabakh, cannot want a war,” she said, but declined to give details about the statement of the Euronest PA Bureau.
Karapetyan also refused to comment on Armenia’s position on Russia’s recognition of Donetsk and Luhansk.
The Euronest PA Bureau includes the heads of the political groups of the European Parliament, as well as the heads of the delegations of the Eastern Partnership countries.
The Euronest Assembly is a parliamentary platform designed to promote political association and deepen the economic integration of the EU and the community’s eastern neighbors.
