RA Ministry of Defense informs:

“The body of Vahan Vachagan Babayan,  a serviceman of the RA Armed Forces (born in 2003), was found with a fatal gunshot wound in the zone of intensive skirmish launched after the provocation carried out by the Azerbaijani units in the eastern direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on 11 January.

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia shares the grief of the loss, expresses support to the family members, relatives and colleagues of the deceased serviceman.

The condition of the two wounded servicemen is stable; their lives are not in danger. “

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that on 11 January, at around 15:15, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire on Armenian military positions located in the Verin Shorzha section of Gegharkunik region. Private Arthur Artyom Mkhitaryan (born in 2002) and Junior Sergeant Rudik Rafik Gharibyan (born in 2002) were killed as a result of a provocation carried out by Azerbaijani units in the eastern direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

Two more servicemen are wounded; their lives are not in danger.

As of 21:00, the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is relatively stable.

At around 5:30 pm, Azerbaijani armed forces used artillery and drones.

As of 18:30, the Ministry of Defense reported about three wounded on the Armenian side.

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported the death of its serviceman Ayaz Nazarov Azer oglu, allegedly due to the shooting of the RA Armed Forces.
