By the decision of the Prime Minister, Garik Sargsyan was relieved of the post of Chairman of the State Property Management Committee and appointed acting head of the Vedi community of Ararat Marz.

“Pursuant to Article 9, Part 7 of the Law on Public Service, to relieve Garik Sargsyan from the post of Chairman of the State Property Management Committee,” the decision reads.

Another decision states:  “Pursuant to Article 27, Part 2.1 of the Law on Local Self-Government, to appoint Garik Sargsyan acting head of the Vedi community of the Ararat Marz of the Republic of Armenia.”

We had informed earlier that by the decision of the Government of 4 January, the powers of the Council of Elders of Vedi community of the Ararat Marz of the Republic of Armenia were prematurely terminated, and extraordinary elections of the Council of Elders were appointed.

All the candidates of the proportional list of the “Republic” and “Civil Contract” Parties of, Vedi Council of Elders, submitted applications for self-withdrawal.

“We are taking this step with a deep understanding, in order to get out of the deadlock situation already known to all of you. With this we have tried to zero all the supposed risks,” Garik Sargsyan noted.

Notably, according to the results of the 5 December elections in Vedi, the “My Powerful Community” Party is leading with 42.86% of the votes, the “Civil Contract” is in the second place with 38.04%, the “Republic” Party received 16.31% of votes.
