In the evening of 17 November, the body of a serviceman of the RA Armed Forces killed during the 16 November provocation in the eastern border of the Republic of Armenia was transferred by a special flight from Baku to Yerevan through the mediation of the Deputy Commander of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov. On 17 November, RA Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan received Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov.

The Ministry of Defense informed.

During the meeting, the head of the RA Defense Ministry presented the details of the previous day’s battles, as well as provided information on the captured Armenian servicemen. An agreement was reached to continue intensive work both for the return of the captured servicemen and for the search for the missing.

It should be reminded that on 16 November, at 13:30, the RA Ministry of Defense announced that at around 13:00, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces had initiated another provocation in the direction of the eastern border of the RA, firing on the Armenian positions. The RA Armed Forces subdivisions took retaliatory actions in order to prevent the enemy’s advance.

At 21:45 the Ministry of Defense reported: “According to the agreement reached through the mediation of the Russian side, the fire in the eastern border zone of the Republic of Armenia has been stopped since 18:30, the situation has relatively stabilized.”
