The court lifted the ban imposed on the visits to Arush Arushanyan

“Arush Arushanyan” Alliance informs:

“At today’s court session in the Goris residence of the Syunik Region Court of General Jurisdiction, the court partially satisfied the mediation of Goris community head Arush Arushanyan’s lawyers.

The court decided to allow visits of Arush Arushanyan’s close relatives, at the same time the ban on phone calls and telephone communication was left unchanged.

As for Arushanyan transfer to Goris penitentiary, the court did not find it expedient to do so at this moment, it rejected the defense lawyers’ motion.

It should be reminded that Arushanyan has been detained since 16 July, 2021. The Mayor of Goris was charged with Article 35-154.2, Part 4, Clause 2, Article 38-149, Part 2, Clause 4, and Article 38-154.2, Part 3 of the RA Criminal Code (breach of voting secrecy, obstruction of the exercise of the right to vote).

Arush Arushanyan will not take the deputy mandate. His father said why. On 3 November, it became known that Arushanyan, being included in the “Armenia” Alliance’s electoral list, submitted an application to resign from the mandate. According to the Mayor, at this stage his main mission is to ensure the continuous development and progress of the beloved Goris community.

As a result of the local elections held on 17 October, “Arush Arushanyan” Alliance won in Goris.”
