Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan’s spokesman Hakob Karapetyan wrote on his Facebook page.

“Marutyan։ After some documentation processes, the new 211 buses will enter the route. The 211 buses purchased to serve Yerevan’s inner-city transport have fully arrived in Yerevan. Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan stated at the session of the Council of Elders, answering the question of member of the Council Levon Zakaryan.

He said that there were no serious incidents on the way to transport the buses, only four or five buses were slightly damaged. The Mayor informed that after the acceptance, customs clearance and several other paperwork processes, the buses will be ready to enter the route. At the moment, the drivers of the new buses are undergoing training with the help of specialists provided by the manufacturer of the buses.

“I have clearly instructed to organize the process as quickly as possible, so that the people of Yerevan can travel by new buses as soon as possible,” said Mayor Marutyan. He also spoke about the preparatory process for the transition to a unified electronic ticketing system.

Notably, in 2020, 100 compact class buses were purchased with the means of the Yerevan city budget, they are currently working.  211 more 8.6-meter buses, were purchased in 2021 again with community funds.”
