The Prosecutor General of the Islamic Republic of Iran is in Armenia on a three-day working visit. Excerpts from the speech of the Prosecutors General of Armenia and Iran.
During the meeting, Arthur Davtyan said.
“The efficiency and quality of the fulfillment of our investigative demands has increased. We have made significant progress in the protection of Iranian citizens, especially in the transfer of convicts. Our next meeting today was, in fact, aimed at recording the achievements of our previous meetings and, of course, to address new challenges and we have new challenges, especially as a result of hostilities unleashed by Turkish-Azerbaijani mercenary terrorists in the region on 27 September last year. In particular, new challenges have arisen in relation to the protection of human rights and border security, which need to find their solutions quickly, especially in legal processes.”
“Diplomatic-political relations between Iran and Armenia have always been very good. Recent events in the region, however, force us to develop those contacts. The cooperation between Iran and Armenia must be at the highest level, are there any preconditions for that? “As Iranian officials have stated, serious steps need to be taken to develop relations between our countries,” said Prosecutor General of Iran Mohammad Jafar Montazeri.
Armenia and Iran have confirmed that the terrorists spotted on our borders are by no means tolerable. We maintain good-neighborly relations with neighboring countries, and we hope that they will understand this position of Iran before the issue escalates.
The terrorists must disappear as soon as possible. We can take drastic steps, but I hope that by then the neighboring countries will start resolving the issue themselves.
