The Supreme Judicial Council informs.

“Today, on 13 October, Gagik Jhangiryan, Acting Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, and David Khachaturyan, Member of the SJC, received Svetlana Belyayeva, Judge of the Riga District Court of Latvia, who arrived in Armenia within the framework of the IRZ “Strengthening the Justice System” Project and the Arman Zrvandyan, the Deputy Project Manager.

Welcoming the guests, the Acting Chairman of the Council noted that the cooperation of the SJC and IRZ is quite important in the implementation of reforms in the judiciary.

During the meeting, the issues related to the courts and case management systems, the workload of judges and the issues related to the reasonable time-frames for the examination of court cases were discussed.

The parties agreed to cooperate in finding effective solutions to the existing problems.”
