President Armen Sarkissian applied to the Constitutional Court to challenge the issue of compliance of the Law “On Making Amendments to the Civil Code of the Republic of Armenia” adopted by the National Assembly on 24 March, 2021.
The Constitutional Court has decided that the law “On Making Amendments to the Civil Code of the Republic of Armenia” complies with the Constitution.
The decision enters into force from the moment of publication.
It should be reminded that Alen Simonyan had submitted a draft, according to which the person who insults will now pay a fine of up to 3 million drams instead of the previous 1 million, and in case of slander, up to 6 million drams instead of 2 million.
