The Supreme Judicial Council has decided to terminate the powers of Judge Gagik Khandanyan of the Civil Court of Appeal on the grounds of violating the incompatibility requirements established by the Law on Public Service.

The decision enters into force from the moment of publication and it is final. The decision was made unanimously.

It should be reminded that the Commission for Prevention of Corruption had submitted a conclusion, according to which Gagik Khandanyan violated the requirements of Article 31, Part 1 of the Law on Public Service and Part 1 of Article 5 of the Constitutional Law of the Judicial Code of the Republic of Armenia.

In other words, the judge was engaged in business activities incompatible with his position.

In particular, as it was presented in court, on 4 May, 2020, Aram Babayan and Mkhitar Sargsyan signed a contract for the sale of their share of “Mush” LLC, and Gagik Khandanyan was the buyer.
