Former RA Prosecutor General, former Chairman of the Investigative Aghvan Hovsepyan will not be released.
The Criminal Court of Appeal, presided over by Judge Sevak Hambardzumyan, rejected the appeal against the court decision to detain Hovsepyan, as well as to recognize his arrest as lawful.
Aghvan Hovsepyan was arrested on 7 September, in the morning.
According to the Special Investigation Service reported that Aghvan Hovsepyan who held the post of the RA Prosecutor General from 18 March, 2004 to 13 September, 2013, and the post of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee from 18 July, 2014 to 11 June, 2018, in the mentioned period he actually participated in the management of a number of LLCs carrying out business activities, in addition he received a particularly large bribe of 190,000,000 AMD, and fraudulently committed theft of property in a particularly large amount of 800,000,000 AMD. Aghvan Hovsepyan was also charged with money laundering in a particularly large amount, totaling 1,299,404,414 AMD.
