The Investigation Department of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia continues the preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on the case of abuse of official powers and official falsifications by the high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Defense and of the Armed Forces in the process of supplying ammunition for the needs of the Armed Forces. Within the framework of which, Davit Tonoyan, who held the post of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia in 2018-2020, as well as the director of the supplier organization, David Galstyan, were arrested on suspicion of committing a particularly large-scale embezzlement.

On the same day, they were involved in a particularly large amount of AMD 2,277,323,840 for embezzlement and committing falsifications and publicly dangerous acts, and petitions were submitted to the court to choose detention as a measure of restraint.

In addition, within the framework of the criminal case, criminal charges have been brought against other former and current high-ranking officials of the RA Armed Forces for abuse of power and committing official falsifications.
