The Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan announced during the government session that 19 deaths from COVID were registered in Armenia on 1 September.

The Minister mentions that the “Delta” variant is more infectious; in addition, the course of the disease is more severe.

“We notice rejuvenation of the disease. Last week I said that we have young people aged 20 and 28, I have to say with sorrow that one of them died. At the moment, we have an 18-year-old young man who is in the resuscitation department,” the minister said, adding that this is an alarm to make our anti-epidemic behavior disciplined.

Avanesyan mentioned that at the moment there are about 1600 beds, 1400 of which are occupied. 650 citizens are in serious condition, 126 citizens are in extremely serious condition.
