“The daily routine of service and combat activity of our Armed Forces exists on the border. As long as we have neighbors like this, there will always be tension. Our task is to suppress them at all times by all methods,” Andranik Makaryan, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the RA Armed Forces, said at a briefing with journalists today, on 17 August.
Referring to the statement of the Minister of Defense Arshak Karapetyan, where the latter said, “We do not want any escalation in any direction, but if they tried to penetrate into our territory, I order all of you to use all means to prevent these tendencies from succeeding,” Andranik Makaryan said, adding that his words should be taken literally.
“At the moment it is relatively calm, you already know about the victims, the wounded, we cannot say about the data of the enemy, because, as always, they do not provide information,” the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the RA Armed Forces said.
According to him, the enemy is trying to keep tension in the direction of Yeraskh-Kut, they did not move forward.
“I repeat once again, this is an image of an Armenian with a Bible in his left hand and a Kalashnikov assault rifle in his right; this is our image. We must fight and live until the end,” Andranik Makaryan said.
