A foreign minister will be appointed in the coming days. Eduard Aghajanyan, deputy of the “Civil Contract” faction, candidate for the Head of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, stated about this in the parliament.
Referring to the recent appointments of ambassadors, which raise questions in the society, the MP admitted that these appointments are also connected with political expediency in the foreign policy sphere.
It should be reminded that the post of Armenian Foreign Minister has been vacant since the end of May 2021, when Ara Ayvazyan resigned. Before leaving, the latter announced, “To avoid doubts that this ministry can take any step or approve ideas, initiatives that are directed against our statehood, our national and state interests.”
Currently, Deputy Foreign Minister Armen Grigoryan is the acting Foreign Minister.
