Ishkhan Saghatelyan, the candidate of the opposition “Armenia” and “I have Honor” factions of the National Assembly Deputy President, was elected today, on 6 August, after being nominated for the third time.
103 out of 107 deputies took part in the voting. Two ballots were declared invalid, 64 deputies voted “for”, and 37 against.
Ishkhan Saghatelyan thanked the MPs who participated in the elections, as well as those who voted for them.
“My conscience dictates to me to be concerned about the situation in the country, not to accept the situation that exists and it is my conviction that the country has many problems and challenges that must be overcome. I am ready for serious work and I will represent the voice of the people in the parliament. Thank you,” he said.
