The leader of the “For the Republic” Party Arman Babajanyan wrote on his Facebook page:

“For the Republic” Party welcomes the decision of the ruling “Civil Contract” party to set up a Commission of Inquiry into the circumstances of the 44-day Artsakh war.

We consider the decision an exceptional opportunity. Taking into account the pan-Armenian attention to the work of the commission, the need to maintain high public confidence, we consider it absolutely necessary and possible to ensure the widest possible involvement in the work of the commission: parliamentary and extra-parliamentary forces of Armenia, Artsakh parliament Involvement of Diaspora expert circles, including in some cases, narrow professional issues and for expert opinion, involvement of leading international experts and professional groups.

Every effort should be made to ensure that various political forces (including those governed from outside) are initially deprived of the opportunity to use the work of the commission to their advantage, to manipulate the content of the work. We consider the inadmissibility of external influences in the work of the commission very important.

This should be done to ensure the independence of the commission and proper communication with the public.

The “For the Republic” Party is ready to invest its professional potential, to participate in the preparatory work for the establishment of the commission, as well as to be involved as an extra-parliamentary force, to participate in the work of the commission.
