The head of Goris community has been charged. A motion to detain him was submitted to the court.  The RA Special Investigation Service reported.

“Preliminary investigation of the criminal case under investigation by the RA Special Investigation Service revealed that the head of Goris community of Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia, AA, ranked 32nd on the “Armenia” Alliances electoral list, in order to secure maximum votes in favor of the Alliance and to achieve the desired result in the elections, based on personal and group interests, has prepared a serious crime, that is, bribing two or more voters.

For committing the criminal acts, AA was arrested on 15.07.2021. He was charged with Article 35-154.2, Part 4, Clause 2 of the RA Criminal Code, Article 38-149, Part 2, Clause 4, Article 38-154.2, Part 3.

The investigator of the RA Special Investigation Service submitted a motion to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan to choose the detention of AA as a measure of restraint.

Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgment that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
