The Constitutional Court has started examining the applications to challenge the results of the 20 June Extraordianty Еlections.
It should be reminded that the election results are disputed by “Armenia”, “I have the Honor”, “Zartonk” and “Hayots Hayrenik” Parties. Their applications are considered in a single joint case.
Judge of the Constitutional Court Edgar Shatiryan has been appointed rapporteur on the case. The respondent is the CEC as the body that records the election results. Related defendants are the RA Prosecutor’s Office, the Police and the Television and Radio Commission.
Ara Zohrabyan, the representative of “Zartonk”, the chairman of the Chamber of Advocates, presented the second motion during the session, which refers to the two decisions of the CEC of 27 June, by which the Commission summarized the results of 20 June. The court examined Decision 184-A. According to Zohrabyan, the decision 183-A should also be the issue of examination of the Constitutional Court.
The representative of the staff of the Constitutional Court mentioned that the decision 184-A was made on the basis of the decision 183-A and the court has already made a decision on the mentioned issue.
Judge Hrayr Tovmasyan mentioned that 183-A will become a subject of examination by all means.
The Constitutional Court decided to reject Ara Zohrabyan’s second motion.
It should be reminded that Ara Zohrabyan’s first motion referred to the impossibility of the participation of the judge of the Constitutional Court Vahe Grigoryan in the case, which the Court did not discuss.
