On 26 June, 2021, 67 graduates of the School of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia received advocacy licenses.
At the solemn sitting of the Board of the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia, the members of the Board unanimously voted in favor of granting licences to the graduates who passed the oral-written qualification exams.
In his welcoming speech, the Chairman of the Chamber of Advocates Ara Zohrabyan advised the advocates joining the Community to avoid getting involved in corruption risks.
“You have gone through difficult examination processes, you have reached this point, and you yourself know that you entered this community only with your knowledge and efforts, not corruption schemes. And this is where you have to believe that there is a life without corruption. Your senior colleagues with whom you have been in law school have always advised you to stay away from corruption, as corruption destroys the legal profession. And always remember that the strongest driving force in any field is morality. There are four moral virtues: prudence, courage, justice, and moderation; and I, as your partner, will advise you to follow these virtues during your activity,” Ara Zohrabyan said.
Ara Zohrabyan also thanked the director of the School of Advocates and the whole staff for organizing the education of the listeners at a high level and with proper quality during the difficult period for the country.
The director of the RA School of Advocates Simon Babayan and the member of the RA Chamber of Advocates Karen Mezhlumyan addressed greetings and congratulations to their new colleagues, wishing the lawyers effective activity and new achievements.
“I thank the staff of the school, the professional teaching staff, who in these difficult conditions, combining the existing distance learning standards, were able to ensure the educational process properly. You will soon become a lawyer. Please do not interrupt the connection with the School of Advocates, either within the framework of the training or within the framework of the law clinic. Congratulations to all of you, welcome to the advocates’ community,” S.Babayan said.
“The opportunity that the law school gave you; whereas we, did not have such opportunity, and every time I enter the lecture room I look at you with good envy, because you have the opportunity to get from the best specialists what that specialist has received over the years. I want to thank you too, because every time I enter the classroom I teach you something and I learn from you. I wish you a good future,” Karen Mezhlumyan in his speech said.
Zaruhi Papoyan and Abgar Poghosyan, graduates of the School of Advocates, made speeches. In their speech, they thanked the faculty, staff and the lecturers of the School of Advocates for organizing the learning process with proper quality in wartime and epidemic conditions.
The future lawyer Zaruhi Papoyan mentioned that the educational process was based on the principle of knowledge and integrity; they had the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge from the best specialists in the field.
Abgar Poghosyan, thanking the teaching staff of the school, mentioned, “We deserve the honor of being a part of a large family of lawyers. Achieving a truly prestigious profession is inspiring and binding. The result of years of struggle is that the community, regardless of what is happening around us, is the most stable. We inherit a much more comfortable professional status than our senior colleagues sitting here, which is why the public today has great confidence in lawyers. And yet, we have come to say that we are not going to just continue the good traditions, we will have our handwriting, our unique place in the community, with the willingness to make a positive breakthrough.”
The speeches were followed by the solemn swearing-in ceremonies of the lawyers.
