Lawyer Erik Aleksanyan wrote on his Facebook page:
“We would like to inform the public that an appeal against the court decision to detain Mr. Charchyan was filed today. Our struggle continues,” he said.
It should be reminded that on 23 June, the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan upheld the motion of the Special Investigation Service (SIS) to detain Armen Charchyan, the head of “Izmirlian” Medical Center.
Charchyan is accused of forcing to participate in the elections.
Days before the voting, the “Independent Observer” Alliance had distributed an excerpt from the recording of Charchyan’s meeting with the hospital staff, which the law enforcement officers describe as obstructing the exercise of the voter’s free will.
The article accusing Charchyan mentions that he forced to vote for someone.
The professor, who refused to testify, insisted in the court yard yesterday that his act was not a crime, he had not force his employees.
