The Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, presided over by Judge Vahe Misakyan, announced the verdict in the case of Narek Sargsyan, the nephew of the third President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
Thus, Narek Sargsyan was sentenced to five and a half years in prison. Taking into account the period of his imprisonment, Narek Sargsyan will be sentenced to 3 years, 6 months and 23 days in prison.
Sargsyan was found guilty of illegal trafficking of weapons and ammunition, drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as organizing the kidnapping of a person.
It should be noted that the verdict can be appealed to the Court of Appeals within a month. Until then, Narek Sargsyan will remain in custody.
