Red Cross representatives in Baku visit 6 Armenian servicemen captured from Gegharkunik region

Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Baku visited six Armenian servicemen captured on 27 May in the border area of ​​Gegharkunik region. Zara Amatuni, head of communication programs at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Armenia Office, confirmed this news in a conversation with Iravaban.net.

She did not provide any information on the conditions of detention or the state of health of the detainees.

“But these issues are at the core of each of our visits, that is the main goal,” Zara Amatuni said.

The representative of the Central Committee said that the Armenian servicemen were able to contact the family members.

“Such visits, both to those who have already been confirmed as detainees and to new detainees, are aimed at preventing the disappearances of people and controlling the conditions of detention,” she said.

Zara Amatuni also mentioned that people who have been captivated since the days of the war, whose captivity was confirmed by the Azerbaijani authorities, are regularly visited. “The last such visit was in late May.”
