The President of the Artsakh Republic Arayik Harutyunyan wrote on his Facebook page:
“Dear compatriots!
In the past few days I have paid a working visit to Taghavard, Karmir Shuka, Sarushen, Shosh, Khanapat and Khramort communities of Martuni region. We discussed both security and socio-economic issues with the locals. According to my assignment, the construction works will gain new momentum due to the increase of labor force in those communities.
During my tour, I also followed the construction works of the main economic project of our country, the main junction of the Karkar River, after the completion of which, from the beginning of next year, 2000 hectares of land will be irrigated.
“Taghavard is the image of our country, just as we lost a part of the country, so we lost a part of Taghavard. Of course, we have had cases of panic, cases of escape, but Taghavard is a vivid example. Attacks every day for more than 20 days, they tried to occupy Taghavard, and Karmir Shuka every day for 20 days, pave the way for the Fizuli-Karmir Shuka-Shushi section,” Arayik Harutyunyan said during a meeting with residents.
