On 19 May, Armenian and Russian political consultations on cooperation between the two countries on multilateral platforms took place in Moscow. The RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs.
Deputy Foreign Minister Artak Apitonyan headed the Armenian delegation, Russian Deputy Foreign Ministers Sergey Vershinin and Alexander Grushko took part in the consultations from the Russian side.
During the consultations, the issues of importance for the cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and Russia in the UN, the OSCE and other international organizations were discussed in detail.
The parties also exchanged views on a number of issues of regional security and stability. In this regard, Artak Apitonyan drew special attention to the humanitarian issues raised by the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh in the fall of 2020, including the release of Armenian prisoners of war and hostages.
“Expressing satisfaction with the level of effective cooperation between the two countries in international structures, both sides continued to deepen relations on multilateral platforms,” the statement said.
