I hope we will not have a bad scenario: Tigran Avinyan

Speaking to reporters in Goris today, I said that one way or another we will reach a solution, because it is very clear that the Azerbaijani armed forces have crossed the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia and we definitely want to resolve the situation peacefully, we are ready to hold discussions in a calm and peaceful situation,” Acting Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan informs.

“Nevertheless, we must be ready to defend our sovereign territory, and in case of a bad scenario, we expect the support of our allies. But I hope that we will not have a bad scenario, we will solve all the issues through negotiations,” he said.

It should be reminded that on 12 May, some groups of servicemen of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces crossed the state border of Armenia and took actions to enclose Sev Lich (Black Lake). The Armenian Armed Forces carried out tactical counterattacks.

The Azeris located in some adjacent areas left the occupied territories as a result of tactical counterattacks of the Armenian armed forces. No case of application of firearms or other weapons has been registered by the Armenian or Azerbaijani armed forces so far. At the same time, about 250 members of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces continue to be inside the state borders of the Republic of Armenia in some parts of Syunik and Gegharkunik regions.
