As a result of a comprehensive and effective investigation carried out in the Investigation Department of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, sufficient factual data were obtained that a serviceman who previously held a number of high-ranking positions in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia committed treason to the detriment of the territorial integrity of the RA, as well as creating an organized group, without state registration, listing and special permit (license), engaged in business activities subject to licensing, causing particularly large damage to the state, illegally acquiring and possessing ammunition, grenades, and explosives.

The National Security Service reported.

The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia warns that it will continue to take consistent and uncompromising struggle to detect, prevent and disrupt the intelligence activities of foreign special services and other organizations, as well as individuals, and will continue to take active measures to protect the security of the individual, society and the state, the constitutional order, the rights and freedoms of citizens from internal and external threats..

Note: The suspect or the accused of an alleged crime shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty under the RA Code of Criminal Procedure according to  the verdict of the court that has entered into force.
