On May 8, the official opening ceremony of the “De-Occupation of Shushi” NGO took place.
According to Ms Alvina Nersesyan, the Executive Director of the NGO, they believe that one day they will definitely return to their place of residence, that is their ultimate goal. She said that they are struggling people and do not intend to give up their goal..
“Unfortunately, the initiative of our letters and applications was not very effective, moreover, it was not effective at all and the Armenian Lawyers’ Association started to help us. Mr. Zadoyan provided us great support, and on his advice we formed an NGO. On 16 February we received the state registration.” Alvina Nersesyan said.
According to Ms Armine Hayrapetyan, the co-founder of the NGO, they are united because they want to take a step that will be aimed at individual protection.
“We, all young people, do not think that we have lost Shushi. We will lose Shushi when we accept its absence. Shushi is simply out of our control, which is a matter of time.

Notably, the “Return to Kashatagh”, “De-Occupation of Hadrut”, “De-Occupation of Shushi”, “Return to Karvachar”, “Return to Dizak”, “Kumayri” Non-Governmental Organizations of Artsakh Armenians, “Harmony” Shushi Women Non-governmental organizations and a number of other structures were and are established with the support of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association.
