Through the mediation of Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Major General Artush Tadevosyan (Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan, Commandos) was posthumously awarded the Order of Homeland with the title of Armenia’s National Hero for outstanding services in forming and developing the RA Armed Forces and for valuable contribution to homeland’s defense and security. The Order was handed to Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan’s son Hayk Ter-Tadevosyan by Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“Dear Mr. Ter-Tadevosyan, I am sorry to hand this highest title not to Commandos in person, but to you. I deeply regret that we are presenting the Order posthumously and in a slightly different environment. Nevertheless, I think this is a very strong and worthy tribute of respect and appreciation not only to Arkady Ter-Tadosyan himself, but also to all the devotees of the Artsakh liberation war and the defenders of homeland, in general.
At the same time, I would like to emphasize once again that such awards, respect and appreciation go to the nation as a whole, since the army, the nation, society are one and individuals perform their feats having in mind the nation, the state, its history, spirit, goals and dreams.
On this symbolic day, I consider it important that this ceremony is being held in here. My word of appreciation, our tribute goes to all the martyrs who perished for the sake of the Motherland, and to all those soldiers, freedom-fighters, volunteers who defended the Homeland, to all our citizens and compatriots who worked for the Motherland,” Nikol Pashinyan said.
On behalf of his family, Hayk Ter-Tadevosyan thanked Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for appreciating the services rendered by the Commandos. “The high state award conferred upon my father is a symbol of future victories. It is a great symbol to inspire the Armenian youth,” Hayk Ter-Tadevosyan said.
