Police is conducting discussions to eliminate cases of theft of the car license plates.

“The police, together with other bodies, are actively working in this direction. Solutions are offered in several directions. One option is to provide state license plates with chips, which will make it possible to fix their location, at the same time, the responsibility for the crime will be tightened,” Avinyan said.

Acting RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan said this during a question-and-answer session with the Government in the National Assembly, answering the question of “My Step” faction MP Gevorg Papoyan.

The Acting Deputy Prime Minister added that the issue of creating an opportunity to restore state license plates is also being discussed.

“I think the police will take an initiative to resolve the issue as a matter of urgency,” Tigran Avinyan said.
