On 8 April sitting, the government made redistribution in the law on the state budget for 2021, according to which the financial means allocated for the implementation of scientific and scientific-technical activity programs (13,104,247.3 thousand drams) increased by 2.78 billion drams.
It is proposed to increase the financial means allocated for the implementation of 1162 scientific and scientific-technical activity programs envisaged by the RA Law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2021” (13,104,247.3 thousand drams) to 2,784,565.4 thousand drams.
Based on the instructions of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia during the consultation on the prospects for the development of the science sphere held on February 24, 2021, the increased funds will be directed to:
- thematic scientific research
- infrastructure modernization programs (laboratories, modernized equipment, etc.).
The measures will contribute to the development of directions corresponding to the modern requirements of scientific research arising from the economic needs of the country, in particular, to allocate 1,031,740.9 thousand AMD for the implementation of measure 1162 programs “Development of scientific subdivisions of scientific organizations, implementation of programs, modernization of scientific equipment, support of international cooperation”.
