Armenia will receive 15,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccine from Russia

During the meeting of the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on 7 April, reference was made to the acquisition of “Sputnik V” vaccine by Armenia against Covid-19; readiness to discuss the issue in depth and find solutions to supply the necessary volume was expressed. Prime Minister Pashinyan noted that on 8 April Armenia will receive the first batch of Russian vaccine – 15 thousand doses.

“It is the first, so called, symbolic batch, but we hope to get a large batch, as it has proved its effectiveness, it is important for us that Armenia will have the opportunity to get it. It is clear that now there is a great demand in Russia, tomorrow we will receive 15 thousand doses, but we need more than one million doses,” the RA Prime Minister said.

The Russian President informed that the production of the vaccine is gaining momentum in Russia. “We will discuss and solve this problem, not to the detriment of Russian consumers, Russian citizens. Production capacity meets domestic demand. Not everyone wants to be vaccinated at once, but more and more people want to be vaccinated, so now the demand and the production capacity are basically the same. Nevertheless, we will discuss this issue,” Vladimir Putin said.
